K-Camp, July 26th - June 30th (students going into 1st grade in the fall)

Pre-primary Ballet

Camp runs 9:00 am - 1:30 pm, Tue - Fri, Cost $120
Students will do one ballet class every morning 9:00 am to 10:00 am followed by a break during which we read stories and watch a video of the story of ballet. The second lessons from 11:00 am to 11:45 am will be music, mime and learning a dance for the parents show at the end of camp. At 12:00 pm we walk down to Skylandia Beach for lunch and swimming. Parents pick up from the beach at 1:30 pm.


Enchanted Doorway, July 2th - July 6th (no class July 4th) (students entering Kindergarden or 1st grade in the fall)

Enter the magical world of ballet through the Enchanted Doorway. Fly over the jungle and dance the bunny boogie. Swim under the sea and shuffle with the stingray. Music and imagination to dance the morning away. Lunch break and swimming at the beach.

 


Little Snowflakes, July 9th - July 13th (students entering Kindergarden in the fall)

"Little Snowflakes" is the perfect week for your child’s first ballet camp. The theme is America’s favorite ballet "The Nutcracker". Dancing and activities whilst learning the story and characters of this wonderful ballet is the focus for the week. Lunch and swimming at Skylandia Beach.

This camp is being taught by Kristina de Korsak. Kristina holds a PhD Linguistics & Language Acquisition, MA History, Minor French, and a Credential in Early Childhood Education. During her professional career she danced with Mark Foehringer Dance Project, Oakland Ballet and Sacramento Ballet. She has taught in several schools in the San Francisco and Bay area and currently teachers at Marin Dance Theater. Kristina is a mother of four and is very excited to be part of Tahoe Dance School’s summer program.


Cinderella Camp, July 9th - July 13st (students going into 2nd grade in the fall)

Cinderella Ballet

Camp runs 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, Mon - Fri, Cost $140
Every morning children begin the day with a one hour ballet class followed by a break and a snack. During break, students color, watch the video and learn the ballet of "Cinderella". Other classes include mime, music and an introduction to character dancing. Each day we take a 1 1/2 hour lunch break down at Skylandia Beach. Parents pick up at the studio at 3:00 pm.


Sleeping Beauty Camp, August 6th - August 10th (students going into 3rd grade in the fall)

Ballet Level One

Camp runs 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, Mon - Fri, Cost $140
Each day students receive training in Classical Ballet, Free Movement and Character Dancing. Other activities include stories and coloring, studying the ballet Sleeping Beauty and learning the related mime, and of course having lunch at Skylandia Beach.

 


Ballet Level Two, August 20st - August 24th (students going into 4th grade in the fall)

Camp runs 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, Mon - Fri, Cost $140
Each day students do classes in Classical Ballet, Character Dancing and Free Movement. This camp offers an introduction to Jazz. As always, we have our lunch and swim at Skylandia beach.


Ballet Level Three, July 23rd - July 27th (students going into 5th or 6th grade in the fall)

Our guest teacher for Hip Hop is Marla Richardson
Classes with be Classical Ballet, Character Dance, Free Movement and Hip Hop. Other activities include stage makeup, French terms, Choreography, study of nineteenth century ballet and lunch and swimming at Skylandia Beach.


Ballet Level Four/Five, August 8th - August 12th (students going into 6th or 7th grade in the fall)

Intermediate Foundation

Camp runs 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Mon - Fri, Cost $160
Daily classes are Classical Ballet, Pre-Pointe and Beginning Pointe, Character Dancing and Free Movement. Dance for Musical Theater with guest teacher Marla Richardson. Other activities include stage make-up and of course our lunch break at Skylandia Beach.

Teacher: Debbie Howle
BS Occupational Therapy. Certified in Pilates Mat and Equipment 2001.
Debbie teaches Pilates for Tahoe Forest Hospital and works in the Physical therapy Department specializing in hands. Returning by popular demand Debbie’s classes will focus on understanding correct alignment and technique to gain the desired results from a pilates class.

Ishmael Valadez, Jazz Musical TheaterIshmael grew up in Mexico where the colorful art of folk dancing is always present. He moved to the United States in the early 90’s and studied dance and theatre at the College of the Desert and at Golden West College. After studying modern, ballet, african, ballet folklorico and ballroom dance he joined Nannette Brodie Dance Theater in 2006 Please visit www.nannettenbrodiedance.org. Ishmael is excited to return for a second summer to teach at Tahoe Dance School.

Take Me to Broadway - Musical Theater Camp, August 13th - August 17th (5th Grade through High School)
