Junior School

Junior School is made up of three levels for children ages 3½ through 6 years.

Baby Ballerinas (and boys) for 3½ – 4½ years introduces children to the classroom setting, music, movement and simple steps like skipping, marching and jumping all in imaginative settings.

Creative Dance (Pre-K) is an advancement using many of the same activities as Baby Ballerinas but with more challenging music and higher expectations of learning outcomes.

K-Ballet enters the world of Classical Ballet with a more formal setting but always including time in class for music and imagination.

Creative Dance and the early stages of classical ballet is a fun way to help children learn to follow instructions in a group setting. In addition to learning simple dance movements you will see some of the following:

  • Development of strength and co-ordination
  • Awareness of music
  • Stimulation of imagination
  • Manageable goals giving students a sense of achievement
  • Learning to take turns while watching others perform
  • Spatial awareness

All children in these levels participate in an end of year recital in June giving them the opportunity to perform on stage.
