Junior School is made up of three levels for children ages 3½ through 6 years.
Baby Ballerinas (and boys) for 3½ – 4½ years introduces children to the classroom setting, music,
movement and simple steps like skipping, marching and jumping all in imaginative settings.
Creative Dance (pre-K) is an advancement using many of the same activities as Baby Ballerinas
but with more challenging music and higher expectations of learning outcomes.
K-Ballet enters the world of Classical Ballet with a more formal setting but always including time in class for
music and imagination.
Creative Dance and the early stages of classical ballet is a fun way to help children learn to follow instructions in
a group setting. In addition to learning simple dance movements you will see some of the following:
- Development of strength and co-ordination
- Awareness of music
- Stimulation of imagination
- Manageable goals giving students a sense of achievement
- Learning to take turns while watching others perform
- Spatial awareness
Junior School sessions are slightly shorter than the rest of the school therefore the fees are lower.
All children in these levels participate in an end of year recital in June giving them the opportunity
to perform on stage.
